Carpet beetles infest carpets and feeds on the fabric. Although carpet beetles rarely eat synthetic fabrics, they may feed on these items when soiled by perspiration, oil or food.

Carpet beetles can live both outside and indoors, especially when fueled by a food source such as upholstered furniture, wool, pillows, etc. They will make their way into your home through doors, windows or other openings, but may accidentally arrive by hitching a ride on flowers or plants.
